Episode #12: Spending Plan
A playing board anchors the activity in most games. The spending plan is the equivalent of the playing board. So, you can think of the spending plan as the “board” upon which the game's activities take place. The Real-Life Money Game® Playing Board-Spending Plan offers your teen a way to see in one place a complete itemization of his or her income and expenses, as well as a description of who pays for what. The spending plan is used to establish how much money your teen projects to have on hand at the beginning of the month and what expenses that money will cover. Within the spending plan parameters, there is enough built-in flexibility to allow your teen to make independent choices. At month's end, the same spending plan will be used to record how much income your teen actually received and how he or she actually spent the funds.
